“Hibernation is a power-saving state designed primarily for laptops. While sleep puts your work and settings in memory and draws a small amount of power, hibernation puts your open documents and programs on your hard disk, and then turns off your computer. Of all the power-saving states in Windows, hibernation uses the least amount of power. On a laptop, use hibernation when you know that you won’t use your laptop for an extended period and won’t have an opportunity to charge the battery during that time.” – Microsoft.
There is a command prompt way to disable it, but I think this way is better and more safe. So here it is:
1. Start >
2. Control Panel >
3. Hardware and Sound >
4. Power Options >
5. Change when the computer sleeps >
6. Change advanced power settings.
7. On the new window called Power Options find, click and expand Sleep and after expand Allow hybrid sleep and Hibernate After
8. On Allow hybrid sleep change the settings to Off
9. On Hibernate After change the settings to Never (write it)
10. Click Ok and you are done.
