When I started blogging years ago, as all the beginners I choosed Blogger as my blogging platform. But at the time there it was difficult to customize the Blogger templates, so every blogger needed to have some HTML and CSS knowledge in order to install specific widgets. But now a lots of things have changed in Blogger. Today this blogging platform offers to the bloggers a wide range of great widgets/gadgets. In this quick tutorial I’m going to show you how to easily install a Recent Post Widget/Gadget with Thumbnails in your Blogger blog. So let’s start adding.
1. Login to your Blogger account. At the dashboard go to your blog and click Design.
2. You will be redirected to the Page Elements section of your Blogger blog where you have to click Add a Gadget.
3. Now in front of you will appear a new window with a large list of gadgets/widgets. Continue by clicking on Featured.
Attention: There is a short way to add the Recent Post Widget with Thumbnails just by typing “recent posts thumbnails” on the search bar at the top right (see the picture below).
4. At the Featured list of Gadgets you will find the Recent Post Widget with Thumbnails at the bottom. Click on it.
5. Now you have to configure the widget. You can change your title, the heigh, the number of posts which will appear in this widget, the summary length etc. The important thing here is to select the style of your Recent Posts Widget. Go at the Snipped Style and select Summary and Thumbnail. At the bottom of the windows you can see the preview of your widget by clicking on Update. Now your Recent Posts Widget with Thumbnails is ready. Click Save and go back to preview your blog.
