Although in Windows 7 you can find a lots of new features, but there are also things that were available in previous version of Windows but not anymore in Windows 7 such as the handy Quick Launch Toolbar, which was in Windows XP and Vista. In this guide I’m going to show you the ways how to activate and enable this toolbar.
FIRST WAY
Right-click at the Windows 7 taskbar, go to Toolbar and select New Toolbar
%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Now you can notice that the Quick Launch toolbar appeared in your Windows 7 taskbar. To hide the Quick Launch text and the title of the programs, right-click at Quick Launch and uncheck Show Text and Show title.
Now your Quick Launch toolbar is ready.
If you want to add new items on the Quick Launch you just need to drag and drop them to it from anywhere you want.
The program icons that appear in the Quick Launch toolbar are small, so if you want to make tham Large, right-click at the toolbar, go to View and select Large Icons.
And finally your Quick Launch Toolbar will look like this.
SECOND WAY
This way is applied when you want to create a manualy Quick Launch toolbar. You can do this same as the first step described in the first way by right-clicking at the Windows 7 taskbar selecting Toolbars and New Toolbar. In the Dialog Box now you will not enter the path that was given above, but you have to create manually a folder anywhere you want and name it as you want. After that, add some items/shortcuts in that folder and click Select Folder. The Quick Launch toolbar will appear in the taskbar. And the following steps are completely the same as the steps described above at the first way.
